What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product ?
Here is Photoshop, a piece of technology that we used as a group to create our first layer of our production company logo. I have furthered my skills in Photoshop by using more techniques which allowed me to get the right look for our logo.
Here is a piece of technology that we used to present our work. this website is blogger, this is so we can present our work in a different way instead of it just being paper based. this also allows other people to view what we have written and help them if they wanted ideas or if they missed a lesson.
Here we have the software of premiere pro which is different from imovie last year. This allowed us to put our sequence together, also from this we were able to further skills by using different effects to make our sequence the best that we can make it.
here are three bits of equipment that i used while making the opening sequence. We have used the tri-pod, DSLR camera, and a figrig. The tri-pod we had used so that each shot that we filmed was steady and not filmed like it was hand held. the fig rig we have used so that the camera can be moved with out the tripod, this means it would be hand held but because of the figrig it wouldn't be as shaky as we would of thought. Finally the DSLR camera which is a camera of better quality than normal digital cameras, these cameras allow us to further our skills while using them as it has a manual focus which meant that we had to deiced whether the shot was in or out of focus and focus it our selves.
YouTube, free play music
YouTube was a way for us as a group to put the final and draft views of the opening sequence on so that it could be marked and then get given feedback on how to improve. also free play music we have used so that we could sound tracks which would allow us to use as it is copy right free music. this also allowed us to choose what type of music we wanted from the wide variety they had.
if we did not have any of this technology then we would not have been able to of created the opening sequence that we have now. because music websites were created, we were able to choose a piece of music that we could use because it was copyright free. also because of photo shop and premiere pro we were able to edit our piece to a much higher standard.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
In what ways does your media
product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Some conventions that are used in all general opening
sequences are ones like props, setting, titles, close ups, establishing shots,
and long shots. These six conventions are only a few out of the many that are
regally used in opening sequences. Camera angles are used, long shots and close
ups are two types that are common to opening sequences. Examples of this is in
memento where they use a lot of close ups and extreme close ups. They do this
so that they can make the audience think about certain shots and makes them
think. A shot in memento is a ex-close up of blood dripping up the wall, this
makes the audience think about why did they put it in revers and why is it
going up the wall instead of dripping down. Another example of a close up could
be from Brick where there is a close up of the boy’s face which is used to show
his facial features and his facial expressions. This makes the audience wonder
why he is in the type of mood that he is. Examples where we have used close ups
or extreme close ups is where the main character walks out of the classroom and
focuses on just his feet as he walks past. This makes the audience want to know
more about the character as they cannot see any features that allow them to get
more information about the character. In our opening sequence we use a close up of the coin spinning till it stops. We have done this because we want to have the effect of the character finally figure out what he is doing and knows what is going on.
Long shots are used to show setting and more information about certain characters. In the sequence Brick there is a long shot of where he is at school and is looking over his shoulder. Form this the audience can have a clear view of where the film is set which can then have them give their opinion on the main character and start asking more questions about this character. In our opening sequence the main character is walking along a path and you can’t tell where the main setting is, we then have a long shot of him walking through the woods along a path. This shows the audience the setting of that certain shot and then they can ask the question why is he there in the woods or is there any reason of him being there. In our opening sequence we have used a long shot where the main character has walked off along the path in the woods we want this to have the effect that he doesn't want anyone to realise what he had just herd and wants to continue his day like normal.

For the titles in an opening sequence there is a specific order
that they go in which are: Distribution Company Logo, Production Company Logo, Distribution
Company' Presents, A 'Production Company name' Production/Film, Most Important
Actors Name, All Major Characters in the film, Casting by, Costume Design, Music
by, Edited by, Production Designer, Director of Photography, Executive
Producer, Produced by and Written and Directed by. The way that they do is by
putting the most important person/role at the beginning going to the least important
at the end. In our opening sequence we have gone by the same order as the list
just explained. We as the group decided to do it like that because we wanted it
to be as professional as we could make it also we wanted the titles to be in
the right spots so the it is clear for the audience to read.
In opening sequences the mood can be set for the audience so
that think certain thing that they want them to think. In Brick the mood they
have set is a dark and gloomy just from the first minute or so. They done this
by the setting being in a sewage runoff pipe which is usually set for it dark
and moody and the character is staring at the dead body on the edge. In our
opening sequence we have the mood of being socially anxious as the character
keeps to himself and doesn’t socialise with anyone else. This makes the
audience think why does he separate himself from everyone else also it shows
that he might not have that many friends just by the way he has acted.
For our genre of a thriller we have used low key lighting. This
is where there is only on source of major light. This makes the audience feel
like the main character might have a certain background and that he could be
important further on in the film. Also we used high key lighting in the woods
this is used to show that it is in a public and open place which can show that
the main character does get out and doesn’t stay at home.
the music that professionals use links to the mood and the theme of what the sequence involves, they also do this so that they can create an affect that would effect the audience on how they want to see the opening sequence. The music that we have used is slow paced to show that our
main character doesn’t like to rush things. From this the audience have a hint
about what the character is going to be like, which will be that he likes to
take his time and look at things at his own pace also that he doesn’t like
being rushed and that he focuses on only himself and not others.
